Audioscript
Tim: Good morning. You’re through to Whitewater Dreams Rafting, Tim speaking. How can I help you?
John: Hi, could you give me some information about the rafting excursions you run. My family and I will be visiting the area next week.
Tim: Of course, well, we’re running several excursions next week, beginning with the trip to (Q1)Blue River on Tuesday. That’s quite a relaxed trip with only 1 short rapids section, and lots of beautiful scenery, so it’s perfect for older or less fit rafters.
John: I’ve been rafting several times in the past, and I’m planning to come with my two teenage kids, so we’re happy to take on something more adventurous.
Tim: In that case, you might be interested in our trip on Thursday. We’re going to Badger Rapids. Now, this route includes several rapids and the currents are quite fast at the moment ,so it’s an exhilarating ride, but we can only take more experienced rafters.
John: That’s an interesting option, for me at least. Could you tell me about your other trips?
Tim: Sure, so on Friday we’re going to Hutchins River. We rate that trip at medium difficulty level.
John: Sorry, which river?
Tim: (Q2)Hutchins River, that’s spelt H, U, T, C, H, I, N , S. There are two rapid sections so it can be quite challenging, but it’s not as challenging as Badger Rapids. If your kids haven’t been rafting before, but are fit and good swimmers, that could be good for them.
John: I see, and do you have any other trips next week?
Tim: Yes, there’s one more, (Q3)on Sunday when we go to White Creek. It's one of our most popular trips actually. We begin floating downriver for an hour, then stop for a barbecue, and then continue down the river for another hour and a half. (Q4)This is more of a day out on the river really, and so it’s ideal for families who just want to spend some quality time together on the river.
John: Ok, well we might do that as a family on Sunday, but it seems like the trip on Friday would suit me and the kids better.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John: Could you tell me about what’s included and if we need to bring anything along?
Tim: We provide all the equipment for the rafting,(Q5)including safety equipment such as helmets and lifejackets so don’t worry about that. You also don’t need to worry about food as (Q6)we provide all rafters with a packed lunch. You’ll have chicken and bacon sandwiches, crisps, a soft drink and a fruit salad.
John: My daughter is vegetarian, do you have a veggie option?
Tim: No problem, we can do cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches instead. (Q7)We also have shower facilities at the rafting centre, so when you get back, you can freshen up.
John: And what kind of clothing should we wear?
Tim: You’re recommended to wear swimming shorts or a swimsuit, but you may also want to wear a long sleeve shirt or t-shirt to protect you from the sun. (Q8)You should also bring a towel and an extra set of clothes so you can dry off and change into something dry after the rafting.
John: That makes sense. And anything else?
Tim: The only other thing is to (Q9)make sure you have a strap if you’re going to wear glasses or sunglasses. A few of our rafters have lost their glasses to the river in the past!
John: Yes, good point. I’ll make a note of that. And, is there anywhere I can find out more information about the rivers and the area we’ll be going to.
Tim: There’s a lot of information online, but (Q10)we also run our own blog, so you’ll find a lot of information about the area and stories about our trips there. That’s the best place to get more details.
