Writing Task 1 (Academic Test)
The graph below shows the average number of tickets sold in a theme park from Monday to Sunday during three periods of the day.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and making comparisons where relevant.

Model Answer:
The bar chart provides information about the mean number of tickets sold each day of the week in a theme park over three parts of the day. Overall, it can be seen that the largest number of tickets are usually sold between 9am and 12pm and that the weekends are far busier than weekdays.
It is evident that Mondays are the quietest days at the theme park, with the fewest tickets sold. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are marginally busier, with average sales reaching approximately 2500 tickets during the morning and around 2000 tickets between midday and 3pm. On Friday, there is a noticeable increase in tickets purchased compared to the previous four days. Friday mornings in particular show a substantial increase in sales, with a rise of roughly 1500 tickets in comparison with Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. On the weekend, ticket sales jump. In general, Saturdays are the busiest day of the week with around 19000 tickets sold over the day, while Sundays are not much quieter, with about 15500 tickets sold.
Next, we can see that mornings are the busiest period of most days. From Tuesday to Thursday around 500 more visitors go to the park than in the afternoon, while on Fridays and Sundays, about 1000 more tickets are sold. The 3pm to 6pm period is the quietest every day of the week. From Monday to Thursday, there are only about 500 sales during this time. On Fridays and Saturdays the late afternoon is busier with around 2000 and 4000 sales respectively.
